NBA Showtime: NBA on NBC for Game Boy Color - Bust out the toast, 'cause this hardwood hoop-fest packs more jam than the jelly aisle.Midway's NBA Showtime comes quite close to recreating the insane aerial action found in the arcades. The gameplay in Showtime is about as far from a simulation as you can get, with 20-foot 360° dunks and no more than four players on the court simultaneously. The game is fully licensed by the NBA, but that's basically where the realism ends. Showtime's colorful graphics are crisp, and the limited rosters makes it easy to keep track of the ball. Play control is generally good, but due to the limited amount of buttons on Game Boy Color Midway was forced to assign the game's Turbo feature to the Start Button. As a result, it's difficult to shoot or pass while using Turbo power. Players can work their way to the NBA Finals in Showtime's Season Mode, or go for instant gratification with an Exhibition Match. Midway has saved your friends from certain humiliation by omitting a two-player option.
